With my new website and rebranding, I know that there are always new people coming to check out my website and probably wondering, well who is Vanessa?!?! While you can get some information about me in that section, I thought I would give you guys 20 random things about me, and hopefully you will enjoy getting to know me a bit better!
1. I was born in Anchorage, Alaska on May 16, 1985. No need to talk about how old I am!!!
2. I moved to Hawaii when I was a little over a year old! My dad won a lucky hand at poker, and there was a job available in Hawaii (he was an Ironworker), and we packed up, and moved to Hawaii in 3 days!
Pokai Bay where I spent all of my time! I’ve jumped off that reef so much as a kid!
3. I lived in Hawaii for 13 years until we moved to Washington State where my father was from.
4. I love being back home on the island for the next 3 years!
5. I am NOT a Seahawks Fan!
6. I am a 49ers fan!
7. I don’t know how to use chopsticks, even though I lived in Hawaii for 13 years…I know! :p
8. I joined the Navy at 17 years old.
9. I was stationed onboard the now decommissioned USS Enterprise for 4 years.
10. I’ve visited many ports while I was in the Navy, including Bahrain, Dubai, Italy, Spain, and London.
11. I’ve met Ben Affleck! I was chosen to be his escort on our ship! I was on the news and everything! Yeah, he was my buddy 😉
12. I’ve only lived in 5 states: Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, Virginia, and Connecticut.
13. I love running!!! I’ve ran 21 half marathons in the past 2 and a half years!
14. I also completed a Tough Mudder, the hardest, craziest obstacle course in the world!!! And did it twice!
15. I love everything DISNEY!!! (I’m secretly a princess)
16. My oldest daughter is named after Princess Jasmine. I had a dream she would have caramel skin, dark hair, and big eyebrows like her. I was pretty right!
17. I love everything pink and sparkly!!!! Glitter is my favorite!
18. My favorite food is sushi.
19. I find peace and sanctuary at the beach.
20. My favorite movie of all time is Shawshank Redemption. I can quote the entire movie
