garden of the gods overlook for engagement session

I had only ever seen The Garden of The Gods in Colorado Springs in photos. The moment that I saw the uniqueness of the sandstone rocks, the green mountain views for days, and even what the park stands for, I knew that one day, not only would I visit this location, I just HAD to do a photoshoot there!

It would be known forever as the Garden of the Gods, “where it shall remain free to the public, where no intoxicating liquors shall be manufactured, sold, or dispensed, where no building or structure shall be erected except those necessary to properly care for, protect, and maintain the area as a public park.”

Well, would luck have it, I found myself in Colorado for some content work, and I had made an announcement on my social media that I would be there if anyone needed a session! Well, then the amazing Cayenne and Michael reached out to me! They were recently engaged and were looking for an engagement photographer! It was a match made in heaven!

They decided that The Garden of the Gods would be perfect for their engagement photoshoot! I told you, made in heaven!!

The day of their The Garden of the Gods photoshoot arrives, and guess what?! It’s cloudy and extremely windy! Like….WINDY!

And Cloudy! And I want to just cry! I didn’t know if my couple would still want to do their engagement session, and when they said yes, the goal was to make their photos as amazing as possible, despite the wind!

Let’s just say, magic happened! Yes, it was windy, but we worked WITH the wind instead of AGAINST it! And, after talking to the photography gods (see what I did there!) right at the end of the session, the clouds parted for a moment, literally a brief moment, of sun!

And it was incredible!!! Take a look at more of my favorites from their engagement photos at The Garden of the Gods!

Even with the wind, being able to work with the wind and still create magic is a skill! The first part of that skill, making sure your clients trust you! I am so honored that Cayenne and Micheal trusted me!

Want to see another windy Colorado engagement session (is there a theme here?!)

Contact me here and let’s plan it!!!
