As I built a business of being a destination wedding photographer, I knew that I had to make my way to Mexico, especially after moving to San Diego! Then the best thing happened! My couple Jada and Ian reached out to let me know that Jada’s father was getting married and was looking for a Cancun Photographer and if I was available!
This is exactly how I reacted!!!
To say I was excited was an understatement! And yes, of course, I was excited to head to Riu Cancun to photograph a wedding, but I was more excited that my beautiful couple thought of me for another special moment in their family’s lives! It’s an incredible honor that I don’t think I will ever get used to!
Now, let’s talk about Jada and Ian!

Now, all of my couples are special. And I love them all! But Jada and Ian are super special!!! You will probably recognize their name and/or photos because we have been on a journey with each other for a while now!!!
First, I met Jada when I did the floral tub sessions in Hawaii back in 2018!
Back in 2018, she was telling me about her new fiance’, Ian, and how they were just starting the whole process! You can see more of her floral tub session here!
Then in 2019, Jada and Ian booked me for their wedding, and we captured their beautiful engagement session in Hawaii on one of our favorite hikes! It was so worth the sunset wake-up time! Of course, check out their engagement session on the blog here!
We were all set for their 2020 wedding at Kualoa Ranch!
And then, 2020 happened.
The Island shut down.
Ian Deployed.
Jada Moved.
Life happened.
That’s life for the past few years. LIFE HAPPENED. Yet, I have to give it up to this special couple. Not only are they just the best, but throughout this entire journey and number of reschedules, they stayed by my side, and I with them!
And in the meantime, I have now captured her father’s engagement session, their wedding, and have photographed a number of her stunning friends, even her mother-in-law!!!
HOW DID I GET SO LUCKY!
So you ALREADY KNOW that I had to have them wake up for sunrise so I could capture them in Cancun!!!! And of course, they did not disappoint and neither did Cancun!!!
On the beach of Riu Cancun, this was my very first time ever seeing the Gulf of Mexico, and as someone who grew up and spent half her life in Hawaii, I have to say it…..the Gulf beaches are WAY MORE STUNNING !! The water is so crystal blue, and the sand so white!!!!

I do not know what I did to deserve such amazing clients like you. Not just clients, but friends. Heck, you guys have been in my life longer than some friends! I know that the journey to get you to the altar has been bumpy, but you two are the strongest people I know! Just promise me, I can still be the family photographer forever!
