When I made it a goal this year to meet Pamakane with Ocean Dreamer and do a floral tub shoot, I figured it would be a one and done deal!
I would get to use the infamous floral tub here in Hawaii, get some great shots, and be done!
Well, as typical, that’s not what happened!
What I didn’t know, is that I would be collaborating with her, and create a package deal for her tub, and use it almost 10 times in the past few months!
What I also didn’t realize is that I would meet some incredible people, one of them being Julie Chu, who is currently representing Hawaii as Miss Hawaii 2018!
You know when you meet someone, and you just instantly click with their vibe and personality?
Well, that’s Julie all the way!
I actually met her at a runway shoot at WeddingWeek here in Hawaii, and I was just drawn to how incredibly kind she was! When she reached out for a floral tub shoot, I knew that we had to make that happen!
And that we did!
I was so incredibly nervous to photograph Julie, seeing as she has worked with some of the best in the industry from all over the world, and here I am, photographing her in a tub! But she made me feel so much better! <3
As I got to know her better (which, thats what you do when someone is sitting in a tub in their bathing suit), I got to learn more about her journey to the Miss Hawaii title, and also how she is a domestic abuse advocate, and uses her incredible platform to educate and bring a voice to domestic violence and empowering women.
I mean, I’m pretty sure Hawaii could not ask for a better person to represent their state at Miss USA, which is where Julie currently is!
The Miss USA 2018 pageant is being held in Shreveport, Louisiana, and will air LIVE on FOX Monday, May 21 at 8PM EST!
