Hello Monday!!! It’s the last day of February, and a LEAP year!!! Pretty cool to have an extra day every 4 years!! Make sure you make the most of it!!!
With the end of February here, that means that Spring Season is coming, and what is typically the start of a busy 9 months for photographers!! First spring season, summer season, wedding season, and before you know it, fall and christmas card season!!!
So if you are looking to schedule a session, booking early is key!! I already have only a few more weekend slots available for March! Don’t delay!!
Last week I was blessed with some AMAZING photo sessions, and some of my favorites so far this year!!!! It was totally maternity sessions all week, and I can’t wait to show you guys all of the beauty from last week!

Got some news for you guys this week too.
First, I will be out of the office from Thursday 3/3 till Monday 3/7. I will still have my laptop with me, and will check Facebook messages and emails sporadically, but please be patient with me as I will be in Texas visiting family (working on that forgiveness I’ve been talking about )
Also, I have been hiding something from everyone because I was so scared to talk about it (NO NO I am not pregnant! ;P )
Each year, Shoot and Share, which is the largest community for photographers worldwide, puts on a photography contest.
Shoot & Share is an online community of photographers who are focused on helping each other and supporting each other. It’s a great place to reach out for help or just to see what other photographers are up to in the world. The contest is “a way to bring the community together and share what they love.” (Shoot and Share website)
Photographers from all over the world can submit up to 50 images into the contest into different categories (i.e. Maternity, Lifestyle, Children, Pets, etc.). All images are not watermarked, so when you go and vote, you have no idea whose photos they are, you are just voting for your favorite! The voting started on 2/15 and 225,207 images were submitted initially. Every few days, more and more photos are moved up in rounds, and others removed, until the finalist drawing in Round 10.
I have never done anything like this before, and it made me so scared to think someone would be “judging” my photos…I’ve already had that happen once before ;). But I went for it!! And the voting has been so much fun and addicting!!!
Well, you don’t know what photos if any are left in the contest after each round, but you can tell if someone has favorited your image. And I found out today that not only are we in Round 8 of voting, but I have at least ONE image still in the running!!!
To say I am in total shock is an understatement. The math on it shows that images that are still left in the contest are the TOP 9% overall…..9% of 225,000+ photos!!! I am just in AWE!!!
No matter how far I go, I am so very proud and excited!! Voting ends on March 4th, and when all the results are out, I will definitely blog about it! Ok, onto my favorite part of the blog!!!
My most favorite image this week. This was hard because there were SO MANY good ones!! But, this badass maternity gym session with Nicole this weekend totally tops it!! I had a a blast capturing this side of Nicole! I had did her soft maternity session this week, but crossfit is such an important part of her life, that she wanted to feature it too! So you will get to see both sides of her!
So, I am sure you won’t be surprised that another image from Nicole is the feature image this week with the most likes! From the post…
