As a child who had the pleasure of growing up here in the beautiful island of Hawaii, my childhood was not one you would expect here in paradise.
Growing up in extreme poverty, fueled by drugs and alcoholic parents, my goal was to find my way in this big beautiful world. At 17 years old, I started that dream and joined the Navy, honored to serve our great country.

At 19 years old, I watched my father take his last breath. He went into the hospital with a broken leg, and never came out. It was at that moment that I realized how important pictures were.
Because I barely had any.
Struggling to find an image for my father obituary, it became clear that these handfuls of images, about 6 or so, was all of the physical memories I had left of him. I mean, our lives weren’t the greatest, so maybe my parents didn’t think it was worth documenting.

But it was.
Those 6 images I have of my father are my dearest treasures. I have no video of him. I can’t really remember what his voice even sounded like anymore. Memories fade. Life goes on.
But those 6 images, they are everything.
As your photographer, it is my job to document these incredible moments in your life. These images will be passed on to your children and grandchildren, and I take pride in documenting your legacy!

Tomorrow isn’t promised to anyone, so it’s up to you to document your today. Your RIGHT NOW. Your life.
