Last weekend, our family took the weekend off and headed up to Yosemite National Park for a family trip! Even though my husband is originally from California, none of us had ever been to this amazing place!
The beauty of Yosemite is almost undescribable!!! Even after going around the world while I was in the Navy, and driving across country, there was something magical and majestic about Yosemite!
We were only in Yosemite for about 24 hours, which was not enough time AT ALL!! We drove up on Saturday, and made it Glacier Point and Half Dome! Standing up at Glacier Point and looking down at the Valley from over 7,000 feet up was quite an experience, and made me a bit anxious too!
The next day we headed down to Yosemite Valley!!! We hiked up to the Lower Yosemite Falls, then went to Happy Isles and had the kids work on becoming Junior Rangers, which they did, then took a not so kid friendly steep hike up to the midpoint of Vernal Falls!!!! I wanted to go the rest of the way, but our kids were troopers and I don’t think they would have made it the rest of the way! We ended our day with our feet in the water at Mirror Lake!
Truly enjoyed spending quality time with my family!!! I hope we can make another trip to Yosemite before we leave here, but so happy to knock that off of our bucket list!!!
