So, I typically do not blog on Saturdays. The weekends are spent shooting, editing, and spending time with family.
But the past 48 hours has been such a whirlwind, and I had an announcement that I had to make, as it changes the course of my plans!
For the past year, we have had verbal and then hard orders to Maryland. For those that are not military, verbal orders typically can change on the whim. Hard orders typically are set in stone, you have your orders in hand.
I wrote my blog posts here informing everyone of the change, even booked sessions out in Maryland. Again, this was the plan. We are scheduled to leave California in less than 2 and a half months. 69 days to be exact.
Fast forward to 48 hours ago. And the universe decides to throw us a curveball! #hellomilitarylife
We no longer have orders to Maryland.
We have been informed we are going to……
Hawaii!!!
WHOA!!!!!!
You want to talk about a bag of emotions!
We are excited because I grew up there and haven’t been back in 20 years, and my husband was already stationed there and can’t wait for year round golf for the next 3 years!
Nervous and worried because we were ready to move to Maryland. Literally just planned out our cross country trip (blogged about it yesterday!!!) My business was in the transition of relocating to Maryland. I was marketing and doing alot behind the scenes to prepare for it.
And then it just stops.
This is military life.
This is the life I chose when I married my husband. Granted, being prior military myself, I understood this role more than most.
A military’s family life is always fluid and ever changing. Nothing is ever really “planned” or “set in stone.”
So, here I am on a Saturday. Starting yet a new chapter.
Making changes behind the scenes. Sending the unfortunate emails that I actually will not be moving to Maryland. Doing research for a new location. Hoping my business will survive the transition.
This is life. And I’m believing that everything happens for a reason. The next three years will be filled with adventure, blue skies, beaches, and hopefully beautiful photos!
I mean, it is Hawai’i right?!?!?!
I will post more about all of this next week!
