I have expanded my brand to California!!!
I truly enjoyed my time while we were living in Monterey, and while I of course love it here in Hawaii, I am a firm believer of growth!!
After hitting my one year mark here in Hawaii, I decided to expand my brand to California, with a concentration in the San Diego wedding market, as that is where we are hoping to get stationed when we are done here!
And I’ve already booked my first San Diego Wedding next year for this beautiful couple, so I am just over the moon with joy!!
So, as I prepare for this growth and expansion for Vanessa Hicks Photography in California, I’ve been doing my research and I found the top 5 venues that I want to photograph a wedding at in San Diego!!! These all are so different, but really make my photography heart race!!!!
Hey Babe Ranch – San Diego California
First off, can we just start by saying what an AMAZING name this venue is?!? I mean, I’m just dying! I want to get married all over again to get married at this stunning ranch! There are different areas of this stunning ranch to get married at, and with the views overlooking the rolling hills of California at sunset, I mean, its just wedding heaven! Hey Babe Ranch is so beautiful!

Sacred Mountain Julian
Apparently, I am attracted to rolling hills and beautiful sceneries, and Sacred Mountain Julian DOES NOT DISSAPOINT on that front! I think I love venues with an amazing backdrop, because it creates such a stunning memory of your wedding day! From their website:

Milagro Winery- San Diego, California
I have been DREAMING of shooting at this stunning winery, and I am so excited that I will be heading down to San Diego in September to do JUST THAT!! AHHH!!! With several different locations to get married at, Milagro Winery offers the privacy , the rolling landscape of Romona Valley, lakes, meadows, and of course, vineyards! And the property is over 110 acres big! So much magic can and will be done here! I’m pretty sure the Old Crush House and the Lakeside Dock are my favorite spots!
The Secret Garden at Rancho Santa Fe

WOW! Just WOW is what comes to mind when I see this beautiful ranch wedding venue in San Diego! The green lush on the property reminds me of Hawaii, and the way that the sun sets on the grounds may give Hawaii a run for its money! And it’s only a 5 mile drive to some of the most stunning beaches in California, so that gives you another option for beautiful couple photos as well!
Ponte Winery and Vineyard Inn
Ok, clearly I have a thing for wineries!!! And amazing backdrops! And Ponte Winery in Temecula is STUNNING!!!!! The rows and rows of vineyards, the barrel room, and 300 acres of beauty!! This is one venue I plan to visit when I head out to California this year!
